The original name for Jesus is believed to be Yeshua (pronounced yay-shoo-uh), as the letter “J” did not yet exist. Over time, as the name traveled through different languages and cultures, it evolved into Jesus.
The inspiration for this piece came from my own sense of duality — the constant pull between succumbing to my vices and striving toward my higher self. The irony of expressing one’s faith through diamonds, which may have been cultivated through hardship or even blood, reflects that duality within us all. It serves as a reminder that sacrifice is often the price of greatness, and that our struggles and virtues coexist in shaping who we are.
